Home to the well-known Barossa Valley, South Australia is synonymous with wine for most Australians. The Flinders Ranges, a large mountain range rich in Aboriginal culture, and the desert plain of Nullarbor also rank high in Australians' vision of this meridional State. Besides these "postcards", South Australia displays many other treasures. Adelaide, its capital, is an elegant and dynamic city: lots of festivals are organized throughout the year. Off the Fleurieu Peninsula lies Kangaroo Island, home to many plant and animal species (seals, sea lions, kangaroos, koalas...). East of Adelaide is the Murray River, Australia's longest river and a natural link between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
