TRAVEL BOOK

Day 1: Hobart - Maria Island

This "Sail Walk" is a once in a lifetime adventure! On Day 1, you will meet your guides in the center of Hobard at 7.30am. From there, you will board the bus to travel to the fishing port of Triabunna. Once there, you will discover the Lady Eugenie, a 23-metre luxury ketch that will be your home for the next 4 days! A short morning sail will take you to the former convict site of Darlington. Be ready for your first walk! Your goals is the 630m high Bishop and Clerk. You will enjoy your lunch from the top of the hill and feel the isolation of this part of Australia. If you do not want to walk during 4 to 5 hours, you can take the start of a shorter walk that will take you to the Painted Cliff. At the end of the day, you will enjoy your first dinner on the deck of the Lady Eugenie...

Day 2: Maria Island - Freycinet National Park

After breakfast, you will leave Maria Island ans head north. A 4h cruise will take you through the spectacular Schouten Passage, to the Freycinet Peninsula. Along the way, you will have the chance to see a colony of Australian fur seals. Regarding the Freycinet Peninsula, it can be described as a geological gem. With its pink granite boulders and its mountains, it is the perfect spot for a walk! You will disembark on the secluded Schouten Island and take the start of a 3h walk, that will take you to the top of the Bear Hill. Another option will be to relax on-board the Lady Eugenie or at the beach! At the end of the day, you will enjoy a dinner on a secluded beach of Schouten Island, before spending another night on-board.

Day 3: Freycinet National Park

After breakfast, you will have to choose between two options. One is more challenging than the other, but both include stunning coastal sections. If you choose the most challenging option, you will first walk through a forest of Blue Gums, before traversing buttom grass fields. The path will first take you to the top of the Mount Graham, and then to the world-famous Wineglass Bay. If you choose the other option, you will walk on a coastal path. You will enjoy nice views over the ocean and the Hazard Mountains, before reaching the magnificent Wineglass Bay! After completing either of these walks, you will have time for a refreshing swim, before enjoying your last dinner on-board.

Day 4: Freycinet National Park - Hobart

Your final day will begin, as usual, with a good breakfast on-board the Lady Eugenie. While tasting your breakfast, you will probably see some shorebirds looking for fish! It will then be time to take the start of your last walk. The path gently ascends between pink granite boulders. Along the way, you will of course stop for lunch, to enjoy a gourmet picnic but also stunning views over the white sands and turquoise waters of the Wineglass Bay. Then, a steep descent will bring you back to the bus. During your return trip to Hobart, you will stop at the Coal River Valley vineyard for canapés and a glass of wine! Then your guide will drop you off at Hobart airport.
