VICTORIA
Located in Australia's south-eastern end, Victoria is the second most populous State of the country. Covering an area of "only" 228 000 km2, it is also the smallest Australian State. From Melbourne, its capital, Victoria can therefore be crossed within a day's drive. Despite its small size, Victoria displays a great diversity of landscapes. Pasture lands, luxuriant forests, jagged coasts, summits of the Great Dividing Range... are only some of the wealths that you will discover in its numerous National Parks. Victoria is also famous for its vineyards (Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula) as well as for its "Gold Towns", where one of the most important gold rush in history took place.
